* Test on Blood agar can be run 2 different ways, either of which is acceptable:

Culture milk on blood agar. Swab a standardized suspension of
colonies on another blood agar plate on plate rarely done this way.

More commonly, a technician simply swabs milk
directly on blood agar plate and places discs on the same plate. The organism may or may not grow over the entire plate which is
needed to interpret the test.
MASTiK® Results Interpretation

The information below describes how to read the results of the MASTiK test.

The time to interpret results will vary depending on the level of bacteria in the sample. The results may be obtained in 12 hours in most cases, with a range of 6 to 24 hours.
How to interpret the results:

Read the test when the positive control well is yellow and the negative control well is purple.

There are six tests that can be run on a single MASTiK plate.

The example below shows results of one exposed test panel of the MASTiK test plate.
